Winter at Tantora – where history meets art in the heart of AlUla 

Winter at Tantora It is an annual cultural and artistic festival held in the Al-Ula Governorate in northwestern Saudi Arabia, transforming the historic city into a vibrant center that combines authenticity and contemporary creativity. Its first edition was launched in December 2018, and since then it has become an icon of cultural festivals in the region.

Meaning of the name 

The name “Tantora” is inspired by the stone sundial located in the old city of Al-Ula, which the people used for centuries to determine the onset of winter and the beginning of the agricultural seasons. With the launch of the festival, this name became a symbol of the return of life to AlUla in its most beautiful seasons.

Festival timing 

The festival is held annually in the winter, usually between December and January, when the weather is mild and suitable for outdoor events, giving visitors an integrated experience between cultural events and the charming natural atmosphere.
